Patrick Roelen, a Director, Human Resources at Chatfield Global, brings a highly strategic lens to human resources, partnering with executive leadership to guide organizations across North America through growth, change, and complexity. His expertise spans HR leadership, organizational development, change management, talent acquisition, succession planning, and serves as our Canadian employment law and labor relations expert.
Before joining Chatfield Global, Pat held senior HR leadership roles overseeing full-spectrum human resources functions for organizations with workforces of 500 employees and more. Earlier in his career as a Senior Regional Human Resource Manager, Pat supported HR operations across the Northeast United States and Canada.
Pat has led HR through company acquisitions, including negotiating new benefits, transitioning retirement plans, and migrating HRIS platforms under tight timelines. Known as a trusted strategic partner, he has driven large-scale initiatives such as restructuring operations, developing HR policies, implementing recognition and retention strategies, and reducing recruiting costs by $3 million annually. His deep experience in union environments, safety, compliance, and risk mitigation allows him to align people strategy with business objectives while minimizing organizational risk.
Equally strong operationally, Pat is a hands-on HR leader with extensive experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and day-to-day HR execution. Among his experiences, he has led complex employee relations investigations and strengthened employee relations programs to achieve zero litigation or EEOC complaints. He is recognized for his resourceful, results-driven approach and ability to build strong teams while keeping HR operations running smoothly and effectively.
Pat holds a BSBA in Accounting from Kent State University and is a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, landscaping, hunting, and going to the beach.
